3 MIN GUIDE

Before you close the tab
because it looks too hard —

This page takes 3 minutes to read. You don't need to be good at math. You don't need to know any big words. This is just a quick guide to what this site actually is.

01 Welcome

Don't worry

This isn't a site that's going to teach you hard math. No tests, no homework. If something makes you go "huh, interesting," that's already enough.

02 So what is this site, really?

In one line

It's a notebook where someone explores numbers and code, notices interesting things, and writes them down. That's it.
Think of it like a lab notebook.

It's not a research paper. It's not a textbook. It's just "I tried this," "I noticed that," written as it happened — which is also why some pages are still messy or unfinished. That's what "unverified" in the title means: not checked yet, still a work in progress.

03 Why the titles sound so hard

It's really just 4 things

The titles use unfamiliar words, but underneath, every page is doing one of these:

  • Compare
  • Count
  • Watch closely
  • Look for a repeat

04 Words you'll keep seeing

A tiny glossary

Waiting Hall
A spot where a number seems to stall and circle around before it finally reaches the end.
state
A snapshot of what's going on right now, at this one moment.
bundle
A little group of things that always seem to move together.
boundary
The line where "this side" turns into "that side."

You really don't need to overthink this.

Read a title and leave, that's fine.
Skim just the parts that catch your eye, that's fine too.
It's just a notebook — come and go as you like.
